June 2012
Wow! Where has the time gone. I feel like my life has been a complete whirlwind lately. Lots of things have been going on but they are all good changes. I'm afraid this post may be really long so feel free to just skip to the pictures. I know that is what everybody wants to see.
My baby graduated Kindergarten - that is crazy. I can remember bringing my 4lb 8oz baby home and not knowing what the heck I was doing but trying my best to fake it. Paige had a great first year of school. She is definitely not the school nerd her Momma was is. But I'm happy to report that she is a great reader and has an amazing imagination. She has a very sweet heart and loves filling everyone's buckets with "warm fuzzies". She does seem to run on her own personal clock which is slow as molasses and is a bit of a hoarder collector, but I'm hoping she will outgrow those. She is absolutely amazing and I can't wait to see her continue to grow (even if I will be sobbing the entire time).
Whereas Paige is a mini-Abbie, Audrey is a mini-Todd. She thinks it is so funny to irritate me on purpose. Much like her Daddy, she makes me laugh even when I shouldn't. Not sure how this one will turn out since she is already laughing at my mad face. Audrey has successfully moved to a new daycare and is fully potty trained...well, she has an accident every now and then. She talks all of the time. I hate that I have totally fallen into the more than one child trap where you don't keep up with as much after the first one. I just realized that she is 2 1/2 years old today. I will just jot down a few of the funny things that she has said lately...
"Wait, I need to tell you something."
"Oh, I forgot"
"one, two, cuatro, cinco, seis"
"It's not funny" (this occurred when we started laughing because she was so pissed we were putting ear drops in her ears - I know, we are awful)
The girls are the best of friends. They have been sleeping together every night since May. This isn't always the best idea since they stay up to late talking but I love the bond they have. Today on the drive home they were cracking each other up by saying "toilet paper" using funny voices. I can't think of a better sound than to hear your children giggling hysterically - too bad there is no way to bottle that.
So here we are into summer. We have made quite a bit of progress on the house and my builder swears we will be in by the end of August...prayers please. And that leads me to the month of June -
Week 1 - Paige has fever
Week 2 - Audrey has suspicious cough and the doctor says...ear infection.
Week 2.5 - Audrey running fever - no doubt it is the virus that Paige had since Audrey is already on antibiotics for the ear infection
Week 3 - Walking to car in parking garage @ 4:30 and get call from daycare to pick up girls because they both have....drumroll.....lice.
I tell you all of this in good fun because I know I will look back on these days and wonder where the time went, wishing they were still little babies that caught silly, little viruses (probably not the lice part)and how the hell did I do it all.
Hope everyone feels as blessed as I do. HUGS!
Audrey's Funny Face - it is impossible to get this child to give me a normal smile
Flowers Daddy picked out for Paige for Kindergarten Graduation - seriously how can my baby already be 6 and on her way to first grade??? Oh, and I guess I can't forget to mention the awesome vase. This is what you use when everything is in storage. I wonder what we even have in there.
Paige and Mrs. Lutonsky
Receiving her Kindergarten diploma and she won an award for good sportsman conduct in P.E (she doesn't really like to lose at home so this was a bit of a surprise)
Audrey posing with her backpack
It is so difficult to get Audrey to pose for pictures (she thinks it is hysterical because she can tell I'm frustrated - wonder where she gets that...mini Todd)
You must admit they have excellent taste in shoes - they must also get that from Todd
Making chocolate chip cookies for the homemade ice cream sandwiches that we made (too bad I didn't get a picture of the finished product). I love the way Audrey is looking at Paige.
Sweet girl - pretty sure this was taken on one of the days we stayed home because we were sick.
Waterslide Fun - even though Todd detests getting this out and putting it up, he will admit that it is totally worth it. Thank you Mom & Dad!
Can you feel the love - they truly adore each other! At Kindergarten graduation we received a memory book for the entire year. My favorite thing in it was Paige drawing herself as a very old woman and she wrote "When I'm 100 years old, I hope I still get to play with my baby sister." (choked up mama on that one)
Loving her new swimming suit
Paige posing the day they cleared our lot. I will try to post all of the pics we've taken on the house. We are getting so excited!
Thank you God
Audrey was saying this little prayer which I thought was adorable. I must admit that I can't figure out what the second line is but you get the most important stuff - Thank you God......Amen.
