Happy Valentine's Day

I hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day. After we got Paige's hair cut (see below), we bought her some new shoes, went out for lunch and made cupcakes. We had a fabulous, family day!! Please note that these pictures were taken the same day as the hair cut and this is what her hair looked like after she got up from her nap. So in case you were thinking that I could blow-dry Paige's hair at night and it would look sleek and silky in the morning....like I said below, that child was definitely blessed with my hair.

Big Girl Hair Cut

I have taken Paige to get her hair cut a couple of times at Snip Its in The Woodlands Mall. Last time she went there she cried the entire time. Unfortunately it appears that she has been blessed with my fine, thin hair; however, her hair is still fairly curly which she inherited from Todd. I decided that I would take her to Celina at Visible Changes. She does such a great job on my hair, I knew she could work her same magic on Paige. This was the beginning of our Valentine's Day. Celina used the blow dryer and round brush on Paige's hair and she looks like such a big girl. If only I had time to fix Paige's hair like this before work/school every morning.

Fishing with Daddy

So we went to Bass Pro Shop a few weeks ago so Todd could spend some of his gift cards. We told Paige she could get a fishing pole. She said that she wanted a pink one. As an aside, she always says that she wants everything pink. I think this is funny because when it comes down to it, she never picks the pink one. I may have mentioned this before but Paige is completely obsessed with the movie "Cars". Of course they have Disney Princess fishing poles and Barbie fishing poles which are both very pink. Guess what fishing pole Paige picked out.....Cars. I pointed out that it wasn't pink like she wanted but she was determined to get the red one. What can I say - in our house Lightning McQueen trumps everything. I am seriously considering buying some Lightning McQueen underwear to help with potty training. She wants nothing to do with those princess panties!! Here are some pics of Paige "fishing" in our dining room.

Potty Power

Well, we definitely aren't potty trained by any means but we are making progress. In the last few weeks, Paige has gone pee-pee on the potty at least 2-3 times a day at school and at home. Before she wasn't going any at school so I feel like there is at least a glimmer of hope now. I have also gotten better at knowing what her timing is. They watch a movie at school called Potty Power. Here is a video of Paige singing the song - "Potty Power! I can do it myself. I'm a big kid now." I think my favorite part is when I ask her if she has potty power at the end and she says No. Well, at least she is honest.

Movie Night Fridays

Well, I am really big on starting traditions in our family. One of the things we have been doing is movie night on Friday nights. Now, it doesn't always work out so well since Paige is definitely at that stage where we watch the same movies over and over again. It used to be Cars and now it is Wall-E. So movie night on Fridays isn't always easy for Mommy & Daddy to sit down and watch the movie again. I am working on getting her to vary her selections. I also decided that we should add pizza to Friday night because what kid doesn't love pizza. Since one of our family goals for 2009 is to save money, we decided to make pizza ourselves. Here are some pics of Paige helping with the pizza.
