Singing sensation

Just thought I would post this video of Paige singing. I filmed her while she was still in the bathtub so she is very naked and wiggling around. I couldn't resist posting it.

Sleeping Naked??

Paige is pretty much potty trained. She hasn't had an accident at home in weeks. She was averaging about one accident a day at school but this week we made it with zero accidents. Hooray! She still wears pull-ups to bed at night. Last Monday, I went into Paige's room one morning before she woke up. When I walked in, I could smell pee. Of course I immediately thought that she had wet the bed. As I am looking around, I notice a very wet pull-up on her dresser. Apparently, Paige got up in the middle of the night and changed her own diaper.

Tuesday, after I put Paige to bed I had to run an errand. When I got home, Todd tells me "your daughter changed her diaper again." This was only 30 minutes after I put her to bed and she was awake the entire time. I went into her room and put the pull-ups on the top shelf in her closet. No need to waste them on Paige's new hobby.

Wednesday night I was putting up some laundry after Paige was asleep. She insisted that she wear her "gobble t-shirt" to bed that she made at school and didn't want to wear pants or shorts. When I went into her room, something didn't seem right to me. As I was looking around, I realized what the problem was - Paige decided to change her diaper again. However, since there weren't any diapers where she could reach them, I guess she decided she didn't need to wear anything. I couldn't resist the photo op. She will probably hate me for this someday!

My Daddy's a Mess

When Todd does something that I find funny but I can't believe he is doing it, I just shake my head like what can I do. Well, Paige has caught onto this so now when Todd is 'misbehaving', Paige and I look at each other with a knowing smile and shake our heads. My Mom can tell you how funny this is. I often also tell Todd that he is a mess. One day at school, Paige got pizza all over her shirt. Her teacher, Ms. Anna, told her that she was a mess and they changed her shirt. Paige felt this was a great time to say, "My Mommy thinks my Daddy is a mess!" The teachers got a good laugh out of that one!

Everything Paige wears and every toy she plays with, she wants to know "who bought that for me?" I'm not sure why she is suddenly so curious about it. If I tell her that Mommy and Daddy bought it for her she always tells me thank you and runs to find her Daddy and tell him thank you as well. What a sweetie!

Pshigoda Tree

In February 2001, the year we moved to Houston, I told Todd I wanted plants for my birthday. Don't ask me why because although I like the idea of having live plants everywhere, I hate taking care of them and I'm not good at it at all. Needless to say, most of the plants died except for our sago palm and ficus. Gunner, our lab, ate the ficus 2 summers ago. But the Sago Palm was the heartiest of all. I guess it represented our"love fern" like on the movie "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days." Of course we aren't a very sappy couple so that metaphor is a bit of a stretch. That Sago palm pretty much died and revived itself too many times to count. Todd finally planted him in our backyard in 2006. It was really thriving and so amazing considering all that it had been through. Last summer, we had professional landscaping done in our backyard which required moving the Sago to another corner of our yard. This was the final challenge for our "love fern" and he just wasn't up for it. A few weekends ago, we planted a new Sago, our family tree. Paige seemed to enjoy helping Todd plant the palm.
