Rockin' Divas

I am so amazed at how close the girls are despite the almost 4 year age difference. Paige loves her baby sister and is very protective of her. She always includes her and of course Audrey thinks she is big and wants to do whatever Paige is doing. Here are some pictures of them being rock stars, dressing up, enjoying Friday night movie night, singing, dancing and all of the other fun things that go on at our house.

Maybe we should take this show on the road

Zoo or Bust

So the Pshigoda Family tries to go to the zoo at least once a year in October. I don't believe we made it there last year. Audrey has never been to the zoo and I think she would love it. My sister happened to be in town working the weekend that we planned to go to the zoo. In fact, her photoshoot on Saturday was down by the zoo so everything was working out perfectly. The trip to the zoo was a bust. We left our house much later than I would have liked and it is much further to downtown from where we live now. We got down there about 10:30. This was the most beautiful day that we have had in a long time. The weather was perfect. What do you think the entire city of Houston would like to do on a beautiful day. You guessed it - go to the zoo. It was crazy packed. Cars were everywhere. Amber was actually trapped in the parking lot trying to find a space.

Todd and I don't love crowds and it was a madhouse. We essentially drove an hour an half to eat at Jason's Deli at Rice Village. It was the best food ever. We had a good time. Afterwards, we drove to our lot and played at the park that is across the street. It was a long day in the car but Sissy got to hang out with us so it was worth it.

Trick or Treat - Halloween 2011

Much to my surprise Paige decided she wanted to be a ladybug. Totally worked for me she could wear her ladybug dance costume and I would spend $0.00 on her costume. She thought Audrey should also be a ladybug so I ordered her a cute little costume from Gymboree. I made the mistake of showing it to Paige and of course Paige thought Audrey's costume was cuter than hers. Since I have a baby sister I know how these things work - Paige got her way and they looked exactly alike. I must admit that they looked adorable.

We went to the Trunk or Treat at the Walden Community Church. There was a fire truck, ice cream, cotton candy, games and plenty of people handing out candy. Audrey was a bit timid here but happy to eat ice cream. Paige also refused to play any of the games (which I am secretly ok with since one of the prizes was a pet fish). Afterwards we walked home and the girls stopped at several houses along the way. They both walked up to the house together and seemed to really enjoy it. Then Paige handed out candy when we got home. It was really fun...even for a school night.

Halloween fun at the Hernandez House

Where has the time gone. I can't believe that Halloween is already over. I must say that with all of the craziness going on in my world (possibly just in my own mind) that I wasn't prepared for Halloween. We didn't get any decorations up except one ghost hanging from the light above the breakfast table.

Being the super awesome Moms that we are, Kelly and I decided that we would spend a fun, relaxing evening together having a pre-Halloween celebration with the kids. First stop...Pumpkin Patch. This went fairly well but it was the day before Halloween and the pumpkins weren't very pretty. It is also very difficult to get a good picture of 4 children at the same time. (Shout out to Amber - do not see how you can do this for a living!) Next stop Grocery store to get ingredients for eyeball cupcakes. There was some craziness with who was going to be in what shopping cart. I was pretty frazzled from this and don't think I ever recovered.

We made it back to the Hernandez House for some pumpkin carving. This went well but took awhile. Kelly & Luis were total pumpkin carving rock stars. Audrey was grouchy and decided that she didn't care for Trae at all. By the time we ate pizza and worked on the super-cute haunted house craft that Kelly bought it was 8:00. Kelly and I were both frazzled so I scurried to get the cupcakes made and the kids ate them at 9:00. I told Paige & Jace that I was going to use their eyeballs for the cupcakes (I don't think they totally believed that I was kidding). After the cupcake eating, Audrey finally warmed up and showed everyone her butt crack (such a proud moment for me). I'm happy to report that she and Trae hugged each other goodbye. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of that. Paige and Jace had lots of fun. When we left Paige told me that she loved Jace and wanted to marry him. He is like one of her favorite boyfriends. I asked how many boyfriends she had and she said 20 (she later changed this number to 100).

Even though it wasn't as relaxing as Kelly and I planned, it was still lots of fun. Thanks for having us over Kelly. We love the Hernandez Family! Let's do it again soon!

Our Lil' Raggamuffin Divas

It still seems like we are trying to settle into our new world out here in Walden. It seems very far from everything. Kindergarten is going well but it is amazing how many things they send home for me to read and the things they want money for -birthday book club, t-shirts, book fair, Homecoming Mums, yo-yos, author signed books. Seems like a lot in the first 6 weeks of school. Paige seems to like Kindergarten but everyday when I ask what her favorite part was she always says riding the bus. We are struggling with getting her to focus on her homework. In fact, I told her that she needed to focus and she slid her fingers over her face and said "focus" as if this was some form of meditation. I have to admit that my Mom and I laughed at her so of course she repeated it over and over. I paid for it later in the week when it took over an hour to finish one worksheet with her.

Paige has such an imagination. She is definitely our creative child. She made up the following song the other day:
You got my heart
You got my soul
You got my power and my espanol.

I don't think I have ever mentioned it on the blog before but Paige has had imaginary brothers and sisters for a long time. After gymnastics, she told me her sister was all fired up. She had to break up with her real boyfriend because he wanted to get married and she wasn't ready. I have no idea where she comes up with these things.

Audrey is talking more every day. She says lots of words and has said the following phrases:
No Daddy Stop, No more bites, Love you, Get it off, Making a mess

She is more aggressive than Paige was. I'm quite certain that if she was taller she would be opening all of the doors and climbing on all of the furniture. She wants to do whatever Paige is doing. I could listen to them laugh and play for hours - it is my favorite sound.

Sorry this post is so long. I'm way too lazy to divide it up. Here are some pics that we've have taken recently.

We live very close to Paige's school and walk over to the playground to play. Of course this is what Paige wanted to wear.

It was raining one Sunday morning (for about 10 minutes) Paige ran inside to put her bathing suit on to play in the rain.

Our Diva's outfit to go to the doctor.

Pretty Audrey

Posing as usual - what are we going to do with her??

My sweet raggamuffins

Sweet Kisses

My little thumb sucker - I know it won't be cute forever.

Audrey put the helmet on herself. She loves to stand on the scooter while we push it. She is mad because I'm taking too long trying to get a good picture and she just wants to go.

Yaya and her girls. I am pretty sure this was taken at 6am before we left to take Yaya back to the airport

Face painting at Morgan's 1st birthday party

Riding on the tricycle together (I'm actually surprised that Paige plays with Audrey as much as she does)

Adorable Audrey (don't let her fool you - she is the mischievious one)

Watching cartoons and stealing bacon. Todd was outside mowing the grass and I was getting ready. Todd made bacon for breakfast but he also made enough to have a blt for lunch or so he thought. Our little piggy's ate it all.

Last Sunday, Paige lost her first tooth. The tooth fairy came and left her "magic" (star confetti) all over the house which Paige loved.

What a feeling

So I haven't been very good at taking pictures. I really need to get a better camera but since we are saving money it isn't an option right now. Paige picks out very interesting things to wear to bed. I swear she has never seen Flashdance but her jammies usually consist of a leotard, tights and leg warmers.

She is so funny and I need to start writing down the funny things she says again. She will be a teenager before I know it and I doubt anything she says will be funny then. Today she told me that when she was hiking at the lake with her Daddy on Friday they saw some people camping in the woods. She said the campers just left their stuff in the trees and it was no appropriate.

She was telling Todd that she loved him so much...55 million beyond 33 (this is her favorite number). Todd told her that he loved her 55 million beyond 34. She put her hands on her hips, cocked her head and said "that's not even a real number."

Oh I forgot to mention that she has some new poses...not sure where they came from.
